Too Late~
Chapter 1


"Why won't you tell me what I need to know"
"Know what?"

"Haven't you been listening to a word I've said?"

"What are you talking about?"

"I need to know how you feel about Ames"

"Why's that rainbow bright?" Matt smiled but kept it hidden.

"Matt you know I hate being called that!"

"Oh Jeff lighten up would ya?"

"Will you tell me?"

"Why is this so important?"

"Because I'm leaving, now will you stop being so damn difficult and answer the question?" Jeff said raising his voice.

Matt smirked, he loved tormenting his brother.Jeff always got worked up over the slightest things. Although Matt was avoiding the question for a purpose. Deep inside he truly loved Amy. He didn't want anyone to know for the fact he had just gotten over a relationship on bad terms and decided to stay out of love for a while.

"She is just a friend and thats all I think of her." Matt smiled knowing it was a lie. Jeff frowned.

"Are you sure?"

"Why do you care?"

"Because I think you guys are soulmates."

"Jeff, you are so full of yourself."

"Your just jealous because I see something you don't..." He was cut off by Amy walking into the room.

"Hey Jeff. I thought you were leaving."

"I am... Matt I'll get it from you one way or another I know the truth." He said leaving.

"Mattie, I need your help getting this open." She looked up from the glass container to smile at him.

"What do you need help with?" She handed him the cherries.

"I can't get these cherries open!"

"Cherries?" Matt smirked.

"Yeah cheries, my favorite." She tilted her head slightly and smiled. He opened the container and took a cherry then ate it handing them over to her.

"Who said you could take a cherry? My cherry?" She said sarcastically.

"I did, I want another..." He teased reaching for the container. She backed away smiling.

"I think not Hardy go get your own!" She protested.

"Look Steph just ran by and she's wearing conservitive clothing." He pointed out towards the door.

"Really?" Amy turned around to look, while Matt stole another cherry. She turned back at Matt who was laughing.

"Mmm... Thats delicious." Matt smirked.

"Thats it Hardy your gonna get it!" She set down the cherries and started to walk towards Matt who was backing up.

"Oh I'm soo scared Red, what are ya gonna do?" He teased.

Amy cornered Matt, and was about to tickle him when he started to tickle her. They were laughing down on the floor tickling eachother. Jeff came in after his match and seen the two on the floor and smiled. He knew they liked each other but couldn't get them to admit it, or Matt anyway, he still had to work on Ames.

"You guys having fun?" Matt and Amy stopped and looked up at Jeff.

"Yup?"

"I thought you had a match next Ames arn't you gonna get ready?"

"Yeah I guess." She said as Matt held out a hand and helped her up. "This isnt over Hardy" She pointed her finger at him. Matt blew her a kiss.

"your so gonna get it!" She warned then left the room. Jeff looked at Matt with questioning eyes.

"What's that look for?"Matt questioned.
"You two flirt an awful lot!"

"Will you quit it?"

Amy entered the locker room a couple hours later packing her bags for another road trip. Matt came in a few minutes later to get his already packed bags.

"So are ya ready to finish what we started?" Matt laughed Amy looked at him with tired eyes.

"I'm too tired right now Mattie." Matt got grabed his bag and picked up her two.

"i got 'em... where'd you go after your match? I was gonna congragulate you on your victiory."

"I ran into Adam and we started talking." They walked down to the elevator.

"Oh."

"Thanks anyway." They got down on the parking level.

"I'm a bit hungry you wanna stop somewhere on the way back to the hotel?"

"Nah, I'm gonna ride back with Adam." This made
Matt addle.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah I'll see you back in the room." She kissed him on the cheek and took her bags.

"Okay bye hun."

"Bye Matt."

Matt and Amy went their separate ways. Matt smiled thinking of Amy. She kissed him every night on the cheek. He wanted to tell her how he felt but didn't want to risk their friendship. They were very close friends. There were no secrets, which made Matt feel horrible. He was keeping the bigget secret from her; the way he felt.

Back at the hotel Amy way the first to arrive. Matt, Amy, and Jeff all shared a hotel room. Matt and Amy often shared a bed for the fact they would always fall asleep talking to eachother. Jeff was there most of the time or he would share a room with his girlfriend Trish. Amy sat down on the couch waiting for the brothers to arrive. She turned on the tv and drifted off to sleep.

Matt came in about an hour later. He couldn't help but smile at the sight of Amy who was curled up in a little ball on the couch. He picked her up and placed her in a bed and kissed on her foreheadand wispered "Night Ames."

Jeff had told Matt earlier that he was gonna be with Trish, so don't wait for him. He took off his shoes, pants, and shirt leaving him in his boxers. He was about to get in the empty bed when Amy mumbled something.

"Ames... did you say something?" He said softly.
There was silence. He climbed into the bed and shut off the light.

After an hour of trying to get to sleep Matt finally started to drift off when he was disterbed by Amy climbing in the bed next to him.

"What's wrong Ames?" He asked keeping his eyes shut.

"I feel safe with you." She said as Matt wrapped his arm around her and held her close.

"Comfy?" He mumbled.

"mmm..."

"Night Ames"

"Night Mattie." They both fell asleep instantly knowing they would always have eachother.

Chapter 2


Matt woke up the next morning with Amy's head on his chest and her arm around his waist. He couldn't help but smile at the girl of his dreams sleeping on him. He looked at the clock and noticed he only had fourty minutes till he had to be at his meeting with Vince McMahon. He hated the fact he had to get up. He debated if he wanted to get up or stay in bed with Amy. He knew what he had to do, so he carefully got up trying not to disturb her. He kissed her on the forehead and got ready.
A couple hours later Amy woke up and was a little upset at the fact Matt wasn't there. She had a secret of her own. She had been crushing on Matt sence she left for ECW. She got up and went to the bathroom and found a note addressed to her. She unfolded it and read it.

Ames, Hey sorry I left ya, I had a meeting with Vince 9 this morning. Jeff and I had to go in early today anyway. I don't think you had to go in, but if you did give me a call and I'll come and get ya. Lata Red Love Matt

She smiled and got dressed. Today was the day she was debating on telling Matt that she felt something for him but wasn't quite sure. Just then her cell phone rang. She picked it up and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hey Red, it's Adam."

"Whats up?"

"Just seeing what you are up to."

"Not much I don't have to go in today so I guess I'm waiting for the brothers to come back"

"Oh okay"

"What are you doing today?"

"I was kinda wondering if you wanted to hang out today."

"What did you have in mind?"

"Movies and lunch or something like that."

"Okay I don't see a problem with that."

"I'll be over in twenty minutes."

"Okay see you then" She hung up her phone and did her makeup. Twenty minutes later Adam knocked on her hotel door and opened it.

"Ames you ready?"

"Yeah I'll be out in a minute." She called from the bathroom.

Seconds later she came out in pair of hip huggers and a black tank top on. Adam smiled. He liked her
as well. This date was a part of a plan to ask her out. Adam was Matt's best friend and didn't know he liked her too. He thought they were just close friends seeing how they knew eachother sence they started the wrestling industry. They trained together and were always together. He never knew that deep down inside they wanted to be together.

"You look wonderful Red."

"Thanks so do you Adam."

"Ready to go?"

"Yup."

They walked out the door and went on their way. After the movie, Adam took Amy out to lunch. They had their own private booth so that the fans wouldn't notice them. On the table was a single red rose. It was a romantic setting for an ideal date. Adam was debating on telling Amy the way he felt. He was scared of the way she would react. He didn't know what he was so scared about, girls loved him and would die if he asked them out, but Amy was different. She wasn't like other girls. She always did what she wanted and let nothing get in her way. Thats what both him and Matt liked about her.

After lunch they went to the mall to go shopping. Amy loved going shopping. They got some more clothes and cds. It was almost eight when they stopped shopping. They went out to dinner. This wans't expected. All they had planned was movies
and lunch. They had lots of fun though. On the ride back to the hotel it was a bit quiet. They talked all day and ran out of things to say.

"Thanks Adam, I had alot of fun today."

"Me too Ames, thanks for hanging with me."

They were driving through a small town and they seen an awsome club. Adam and Amy looked at eachother.

"You wanna go?"

"You bet!"

They pulled over and went into the club. After a drink Adam asked Amy to dance with him. She accepted and they danced to "God must have spent a little more time on you" by N*SYNC. Adam held Amy close. She rested her head on Adam's sholder.

"Hey Ames" Adam wispered

"hmm?"

"Will you go out with me?"

Amy and Adam stoped dancing. Amy backed up in shock. She wasn't expecting that from him, she didn't even suspect him liking her.

"What?" She asked making sure of his words.
"I asked if you would go out with me" Adam answered a little louder then before.

"I don't know what to say Adam... I..."

"You can tell me if you like me or not."

"I do... its just that I wasn't expecting it."

"i'm sorry if you don't feel the same,... we can just drop the subject."

They started to dance again. Amy started to think. She thought about if Matt felt the same or not. She thought what it would be like if she went out with Adam. He wouldn't hurt her in any way.

"Yes." She whispered.

"What was that Red?"

"I said yes, I'll go out with you."

Adam smiled and bent down for a kiss. Their kiss lasted for a while. After a couple hours they decided to go back to the hotel. Adam walked Amy to her room. He kissed her once more then they said their goodbyes. Amy unlocked her hotel door and walked in with a smile.

Chapter 3


Matt and Jeff both looked at her with curious looks.
"Hey Red where were you?"

"I was with Adam."She answered with a smile.

"Well it's about time, we were wondering if you were gonna come back." Jeff protested.

"We went shopping had lunch,dinner and went to a club." She smiled.

Matt got a little tense as Jeff at up straight.

"Hey Ames whats up with you and Adam anyway?" Jeff asked a little confused.

"We're uh... kinda dating." She replied with a quiet voice.

"What?" Matt choked on his water. Amy cleared her throat.

"Me and Adam are dating."

"You mean like boyfriend, girlfriend type thing?" Jeff questioned.

"Mmhmm."

"Amy NO!"

Matt yelled and stormed off into the bathroom, Amy followed. Matt shut the door and wouldn't allow Amy to enter. She pounded on the door.

"Matt come on, let me in...Please?"

After a couple minutes Matt opened the door, Amy walked in and hoped up onto the counter sink. Matt stood across the bathroom and stared at her.

"Matt tell me whats wrong?"

"Now we can't be close."

"What do you mean?"

"We do everything together, we even share a bed, now all hats gonna change cuz your dating my best friend."

"Matt, nothings gonna change, your still my best friend. And just because I'm dating Adam doesn't mean we still can't share a bed. I mean he knows there's nothing going on between us so he wouldn't care. Me and Adam might last not for so long, but me and you are forever Matt!"

"Forever?" He questioned softly.

"Forever." She said with a smile.

They both looked at eachother and smiled knowing they would always have eachother. Matt walked over to her and gave her a hug. They started to tickle eachother and laugh.

Chapter 4

The next morning Amy spent the day with Adam. It was like that for the next couple months. Amy seemed to have gotten over Matt. Amy and Adam had grown very close. Matt avoided her when he could. He didn't share a bed with her as much anymore. It wasn't because she was sleeping with Adam, it was because she stared to get her own room so she could stay up late with Adam and talk all night and occasionally had a light make out session. Amy and Matt had once slept together. They wanted to keep it special so promised each other that they wouldn't have sex with anyone unless they were married. They would always have a special bond together. They also had an arrangement; if they weren't married or with someone by the age of 31 then they would get together and be married.
Amy and Adam were out on a date at a restaurant. They were in an isolated booth, like before.

"What do you want?" Adam asked.

"I think I'll have the Chicken with the broccoli, what are you gonna have?"

"The steak and potatoes"

"Sounds good."

They ordered their food and ate it. They held a conversation about what they seen themselves doing in the future. After a while they were quiet again. Amy played with her ice cream Sunday while Adam stared at her. Amy looked up at him.

"What are you thinking?" She asked

"About the future"

"Penny for your thoughts?" He couldn't help but smile. She lit up the whole room when she smiled.

"I was thinking what the future would be like if we were married and had a kid or two." Amy sat there in shock.

"Are you proposing?" She asked skittish.

"Well I do have a ring if you want it."

"Oh." She grunted. Then put her head in her hands.

"What's wrong Ames?"

"I don't know what to do. I mean there's so much I have to tell you before I accept."

"Like what?"

"I have a secret"

"You can tell me anything"

"Well I've been in love with Matt for a long time but I can't be in love with him if I'm gonna marry you. I love you and I want to be with you."

"Amy, that's a little shocking but we can get through it I wanna be with you."

"Can you give me a couple minutes?"

"Yeah you can have all the time in the world."

"Thank you"

They finished their desert and were about to get into the car.

"Hey Adam?"

"Yeah?" He asked a little quiet.

"I wanna be with you too."

Adam looked at her with a big smile and ran over her hugged her then twirled her around.

"I'm gonna make you so happy!" He shrieked. Amy giggled like she was in the third grade. Adam put her down and they stared into each other's eyes before kissing. Adam had finally what he always wanted. Someone to grow old with. Amy had fallen in love with Adam in a short amount of time that they had shared together. She wished she knew how to deal with the feelings she had for Matt, although they seemed to be going away.

Later that night after celebrating Adam took Amy back to her hotel room. Amy walked in and laid on her bed. She was happy accept the one thing that was bothering her.

Amy walked through the door that connected to Matt's room. She sat on his bed and looked at him. Worried about his reaction she took a deep breath and spoke softly.

"Hey Matty... I need to tell you something can you wake up?"

Matt slowly opened his eyes and seen Amy a bit tense. He sat up and smiled.

"Ames what's wrong?"

"Matt I have to tell you something."

"What?"

"Adam asked me to marry him." She looked him strait in the eye. Matt could feel his heart break into a millions pieces. He looked into her eyes and knew the answer before he asked. He looked away hoping his eyes wouldn't tear.

"You said yes didn't you?" He asked disappointed.

"Matt I know you don't want me too but I love him. I wish you would support me. You're my best friend and your support means everything to me."

"I don't know Amy, I don't think I can." He stated getting up and looking out the window. "Why Matt?" She started to cry. She really wanted his support, and didn't know why he wouldn't give it to her.

"You wanna know why? Do you really want to know?" He asked turning around to her with a tear in his eye.

"Yes."

" Amy I love you more than you could ever know. I've loved you since the first time I seen you. And I wanted to be with you since the day we made love. You are the reason why I do what I do everyday."

"Why didn't you tell me this before?" She asked quietly getting closer to him.

"I was scared of how you would react. I was going to tell you the day you went home with Adam a while ago."

"I told Adam that I was in love with you and that I can't be in love with you if I wanted to marry him. Matt, I didn't know you loved me back, I swear. If I knew that I wouldn't have told him yes."

"Amy, you know I love you. We say it all the time."

"I didn't think you meant it that way."

"Tell me this Amy, how did you mean it?" They looked into each other's eyes. Amy started to cry.

"Matt..."

"Well?" "You know how much I love you."

"Tell me Amy. You tell me you love me like friendship love me and I will support the marriage."

"Matt I love you as a frie..." She looked him in the eyes "I can't." She turned her head not wanting to face the truth.

"What are you doing marrying Adam then?"

Amy turned away. Matt turned her around to face him. They looked each other in the eyes. Matt kissed her. She soon found herself kissing back. She pulled away.

"I just wanted one last kiss." Matt said softly and left. Amy started to cry harder.

She stared to wonder if she should choose Matt but she knew what she had to do. She had to follow her heart that was aching to hear those words for the longest time. She slowly went to the door and walked back into her room preparing herself for her future knowing she had to face the consequences of her choice.
